All trainers and training managers need to know how to design training programmes. This course provides individuals with the essential skills required to ensure that training does what it is expected to achieve. This course also includes a brand new online remote delivery module covering essential remote design elements. These courses are fully interactive instructor-led live broadcast sessions, and you will learn as you would in a classroom environment. Delegates also have the opportunity to design training or bring in already designed training for review.

The Training Cycle – We review the training cycle to provide a greater understanding of the fundamental elements of the System Approach to Training (SAT).
Identify Training Needs and Effective Planning - Conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and conducting individual and organisational needs to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Essential Elements for Training Design - We describe the key design essentials such as training syllabus, lesson plans, handouts, etc.
Assessment Options - We review the options to conduct an effective assessment to ensure training is working.
Remote Options - The essential online remote options available are described. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed and explained along with effective implementation.
Design Essentials – The elements that must be considered before we embark on the training process are described and discussed.
Training Materials – Key elements are explained and reviewed. Furthermore, we describe the documentation and materials that need to be produced which includes training syllabus and lesson plans.
Delivery Methods – We look at the training options available to ensure learning has taken place which will include 1-2-1 or group training.
Training Evaluation – We explore the Kirkpatrick model of evaluation to ensure that training is working. Examples of how this operates in the workplace are discussed, and templates that can be used are explained.
Includes all study guides and upon satisfactory completion Target Training certification which can be used as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity.

"Are courses accredited?"

"Do I have to complete a portfolio or pass an exam to complete the course?"
On courses that are accredited, they are performance assessed. No portfolios or additional tests or statements are required. Whilst on the training delegates are shown the skills and techniques required and they are then given opportunities to practise and develop. During this time our trainers offer support and guidance accordingly. A formal assessment is then conducted at the end of the course and one to one feedback is given focusing on what was done well and areas for development.
"What is the difference between Coaching and Training?"
There are often mistakes regarding understanding the differences between the two methods.
Coaching - A conversation between the coach and the coachee whereby the coachee achieves a higher level and understanding of awareness and self-awareness, while the coach provides a safe environment and structure for that outcome to occur.
Training - Training is teaching or developing in oneself or others, any skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies. Training has specific goals of improving one's capability, capacity, productivity and performance and to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout working life.
To train, you need to know the skill, to coach you don’t because it is more about the person.
How can these be miss-understood? I know the English language does not help with a ski instructor and a tennis coach, but coaching and training are different. I see the cross between coach and mentor is the same; the key is to understand the boundaries between them all.
