Those Apps on our phone?
Listen some of us have apps on our phones that we don’t want.
Look at your phone and how much tidying up does it need? Be honest with yourself, I bet you could delete a few.
Now I link the Apps on my phone to habits, how many habits do I want to get rid of?
What do I want to do about these? Yes, delete.
You are probably asking what does this have to do with training? Well, actually a lot.
Some of the habits we dislike for example a mannerism like saying OK or that we may rock on a spot (lower body language), or not sure what to do with our hands.
All our not-so-favorable habits kick in when we feel uncomfortable.
All of this affects how we come across as a trainer.
We really have to consider our Apps, those habits we have stored for example the words that trigger when feeling uncomfortable, I am not good at this, I will be caught out, these awful belief systems that just trigger.
This is why I talk about this and go into much more detail on one of my lessons in

Listen some of us like schedule and planning, it feels good to have a plan of things to do today and for the week and even further.
Is this you?
Or
Are you the last-minute, spontaneous more casual individual who prefers to leave things to the last minute?
Nothing wrong with being either or being both, but how does this affect the training room?
As a trainer, if you don’t set out the day and explain the structure of what is going to come the planners will feel frustrated and irritated. They will be the first to ask what time is lunch, coffee breaks, etc.
For the others, they don’t care too much because they know it’s coming and will only ask just before.
These two opposites view each other very differently. One sees the other as irresponsible whilst the other is seen as a nag.
Who are you?
I go into this in much more detail in module 2 on our Training Gateway. You have to understand people’s behavior and how this affects a training room.
Not only is it important when delivering training

A recent comment was made in the training room.
“I don't talk cry”
What’s your reaction?
As a trainer, we are going to meet every mindset. How do you deal with this in a training room knowing this sort of comment may not land very well with everyone in the group.
Well, what is going on here is based on how people make decisions. Some people put the problem before the person and others put the person before the problem.
It does not mean the person who made this comment is not a nice person, they are, they just make their decisions differently from some others.
You need to beware there may be a conflict between the opposites but then they complement each other see below -
The problem solvers find the person first illogical and overly emotional but they need them to be in touch with feelings, to persuade and reconcile.
The people first find the problem-solvers critical, cold, and insensitive but need them to be tough, to weigh costs and benefits.
