Hello. I'm back in the UK. As you can see, no snow here. Back in the UK after an absolutely amazing two weeks in the Alps. Just unbelievable. It was a birthday trip for me, and we achieved so much. So yeah, unbelievably great, but good to be back too. So, back on the Trainer Talk on the Dog Walk. And what I wanted to talk to you today about is I'm going to do a little featurette over the next few weeks, and I'm going to do what we call A to Z of training. And what I want to try and do is give you some tips, give you some hints, give you some of the best practice really that I can think of, using the A to Z.
So, what we're going to talk about today is A. And A is for activities. One of the things that so many trainers omit to do is engage. It's one of the fundamentals of great training. You have to engage with people. So, one of the good things you can do is you can introduce activities. You can do little games, little quizzes, breakout sessions, all sorts of things to get people doing.

It is that time in January when your Goals that have been set as part of your New Years Resolution start to drift, the mid-January slump.
Why is this? Well, the reason is motivation and recognising the differences between Extrinsic or Intrinsic Goals.
When we set goals with Extrinsic motivation, for example, I want to look better for my partner or I want to do well in my job so my parents are proud they tend to collapse. These are great in terms of values but the Goals are not intrinsically motivating.
If the Goals are intrinsically motivated they would be more like I would like to feel better for my health or I want to be proud in my work role by moving forward with a positive performance at work because I enjoy and love what I do.
There is a vast difference when setting goals due to motivation, who are your goals for?
P.S. It is not too late to change.
