The last six months have had a massive impact on the training sector. We have had to adapt significantly, and what we thought was going to be a temporary measure has now become the norm. We have changed!

The reality is that we now have to train people remotely, and this can add additional pressure on trainers, who now not only have to deliver effective training but also to know how to do it using new technology. Added to this the fact that many people attending online may not want to be there, they may have had a poor experience of online training, and of course, when we have a poor experience of something, it can put us off for life.

This is why we have updated our two-day ILM accredited Professional Trainer Techniques (PTT) Train the Trainer course. We have included a brand new module on remote learning covering essential items and covering:

How to set up an online remote session - key essentials such as providing delegates with some remote etiquette and how to simplify the options available.

What equipment remote trainers need - the essentials to ensure you get your message across in a professional manner.

Use of waiting rooms - How to create a perfect entrance for your remote training session.

Use of visual aids - How to use Whiteboard and PowerPoint effectively in a remote training environment. We demonstrate their use and limitations.

Use of breakout rooms - How they can be a brilliant tool within online remote learning. We show you how to set them up and manage them effectively.

Dealing with challenges - We explore issues from delegate behaviour that can cause problems with remote learning and how to avoid and deal with issues.

On the module, we focus on Zoom and Teams, but if required, we can adapt to deliver a bespoke module based on your particular software. As always contact us for further information.

We are very excited about this new addition, we know how online remote learning can go wrong, and we're looking forward to showing trainers how online remote training should work. You can see the dates of our remote PTT course here and we have a separate 1/2 day CPD session for qualified trainers coming very soon.
