Making decisions
This time of year is a fantastic time for deciding to make a change. The New Year is fast approaching ahead, and many feel that this is a perfect opportunity to change.
You know what, I agree, and I love the New Year for this opportunity to make positive changes using the power of making decisions.
Making decisions is so incredibly powerful, it is like a 'laser beam', it can't be modified, you have made a decision, and that is it, and as laser beams do, it cuts through anything. It can't be altered, adapted or changed; it is incredibly powerful and always reaches its target.
I have two key decisions I am making this year:
The first decision is not to drink alcohol for one-month starting January 4th. People that know me personally will be aware that I like a drink, especially at weekends, we live in a place (Newcastle upon Tyne) where the best bars are. It was one of the reasons we moved here! Not one alcoholic drink will pass my lips until February 5th.
The second decision is to lose two stone (Approx 12.5 kilograms) in weight before the end of April. I want to be healthy, and I know losing this much weight will significantly help me be more beneficial in my health target.
Of course, I realise that your decisions will be different from my choices; yours may be a career, financial, work-related or a personal decision. It doesn't matter what it is, the most important thing, you make the decision. You make the decision, and you know, like the laser beam, it can't be changed or altered.
Remember, it is a decision that can't be changed; it is the law! Many people make a preference using language like I am going to try and lose two stone. Look at the language in the sentence here, it is weak, using language like 'try' and using language like that it is very easy to break.
Over the next few blogs, I will share how I go about ensuring all decisions I make come into fruition. I will also update you on the two decisions I have made and my progress.
Use this opportunity to make a decision; it is a truly fantastic place to be when you know your decisions always happen. That laser beam breaks through anything. Of course, the first thing you have to do is to make one! Make a decision and write it down; on our next blog, I will show you the second stage.
