Anyone who has had to shop for clothes on the high street will be familiar with the dread expression ‘One Size Fits All’. To be found on many a label, it is a tag that lots of us instinctively shy away from, feeling perhaps that it does not quite ring true.

The same can be said of the way in which we approach work and, in particular, management styles.

Not every manager is designed to manage a team in the same way and, critically, not every team will respond best to the same kind of management.  It seems so simple when spelt out like that, doesn’t it?  Yet it is amazing how many management training courses will exclusively focus on an inflexible, standardised mode of training.

We always like to do things more effectively, which is why we offer management training courses which take into account many of our little differences.

Our management training courses include the Foundation Management Development Programme (FMDP) and Management Development Programme (MDP), both of which are recognised by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

Within the framework of these courses, we recognise the fact that a truly motivated manager is the best person to motivate his or her team.  We therefore naturally design courses which inspire and empower leaders, furnishing them with tips, techniques and tools which add to their knowledge and improve upon their skills.

However, in addition to this, we build in a certain amount of scope to allow for the needs of individuals.  Firstly, the courses function in two tiers, with FMDP designed for those who are starting out in their first line management role and MDP created with experienced managers in mind.

Then, crucially, during each course, we cover the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and understanding different personalities.  This is a key part of our course and reminds managers that what will work for a cautious, planning-focused introvert may not, in fact, apply at all to a creative extrovert.  We promote the fact that we are all different as being a strength, something that managers can use to enhance their understanding of their team. One size does not fit all.

In addition to this perspective, we sprinkle in hefty doses of leadership skills, appraisals handling, team motivation, meeting skills, conflict resolution, time management and much more.  Our comprehensive courses enable our managers to go back to work feeling reinvigorated and supported in numerous ways which are unique to them and the needs of their particular team.
